Pitch
An action-adventure Zelda-Like game where you play Ryn, a young girl lost in a mystical forest inspired by Celtic mythology. Along with her fox-like spirit companion Iden, uncover the secrets of this mysterious place and find out the truth behind a dark entity corrupting these lands.
Control both Ryn and Iden to solve different puzzles, interact with various NPCs and explore the mystical forest in this story driven adventure.

I worked on this project primarily as Level Designer (creating the world, player navigation and designing dungeons) but also as Narrative Designer (story pacing, dialogues, developing the universe and making 2D custscenes in engine).
I've also helped the Game Design team design the character mechanics.

About The Game
Explore - Discover - Challenge
Play as two different characters, each having a different controller you can switch between. Ryn, the young girl focuses on material objects : activating levers and pushing stone blocks. Iden, the fox spirit, on the other hand handles everything mystical : activating magical torches or pushing exploding mushrooms.
Together solve puzzle, challenge dungeons, explore ruins and help other spirits banish the corruption destroying the forest.




World
A world seperated in different zones and 3 dungeons built to challenge players with different mechanics through new powers they unlock on the way.
A final boss fight awaits players at the end of their journey.

Universe
You wake up in a mysterious dark forest alongside a fox spirit eager to help you get home. However you find that the forest is corrupt by a mysterious entity. Meet and help the inhabitants of this mystical world banish the darkness consuming this land.

Development
Context
This game was made by a group of 8 people specialized in either Game Design or Game Art. This is a project made at the end of the 2nd year (2021). As such, there were no Programmers on this project and the Game Designers were the ones programming. We had 4 months to develop this game.
My Experience
For me this was a really good project to work on, I had a great experience and learned a lot of things. This was a project I looked forward to for a while, being a fan of adventure and storytelling. Thanks to this project I had the opportunity to really link level design and narration in order to create a mystical world. I learned to make cinematics, I deepened my knowledge in puzzle making / pacing and learned to work better in a team.
My only regret with this project is not having been able to develop it further. Certain bugs make certain part of this game difficult to play but it's understandable with the skills I had then. Since I have learned many things and this project was one of the stepping stones.
